Well, although I am not quite done with this particular project, I thought I would share the results so far. Specifically because it has kind of evolved into something new that I am exploring. If you follow the progression below you will see what I mean.

My brief for this project was fairly simple. The pictures could not have any discernible subject. Additionally, shapes, colours, textures, composition etc. had to come only from the manipulation of light. Nothing else. This ended up actually being quite a challenge in the end, but was loads of fun as I got to break rules, experimented with manual focus and was constantly looking for things to manipulate light with. I even used a shot glass at one stage. :)

Anyway, here are some of them. I kept the file sizes small so the quality is not the best. All comments welcome.

So far, so good. Well done with your personal project Kevin. I am glad you're using the word evolve, because that's what we supposed to do as photographers. Evolve in term of creativity and technical skills. You are indeed doing so.
