I took this image in the Kruger at a hide. I must have taken about 30 shots to get just one. Canon Eos 600D, 500mm lens, AV F6.3, 1/200sec, ISO 100, White balance-Cloudy.

Very good

Which 500 lens did you use?

Well done - your patience has been richly rewarded with a superb image. Amazing sharpness considering the length of your lens and the "slow" shutter speed.

Your patience paid off as this is not an easy bird to photograph, it is very small and very shy. The DOF was handled extremely well as the background is not detracting from your subject, and you have the entire bird in focus. You maintained ample detail in the beautiful feathers, with good catch light in the eye, well done.  You can however pull just a little more light into the shadows on the right (your right) which will enhance your image even more. Considering the fact that your shutter speed was a little slow, you still managed to capture a very sharp images here. I also enjoy the bird looking into the negative space in your frame as it creates a good balance -  well done with your feature.
