‘It happened, therefore it can happen again: this is the core of what we have to say.’ Primo Levi.

The Holocaust Memorial - Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. Located in Berlin, this memorial brought me to tears. It is a very depressing place, and we were there on a dark gloomy day, where the light hesitantly peaked through the gaps between the "stelae" that represent 2,711 of the 6 million Jewish lives lost in the Holocaust.

But the quote above is what really struck a nerve. It happened. And it is still happening. Oppression, hatred, racism, fear. They all still exist, in small and big ways, right around the world. The human race has not learned. And therefore, it has happened, and it will happen again.

Nadia, this is gawjus. I love the order of the lines and the chaos of the clouds above, the black and white conversion and the overall message of the photo. Well done girl

People still have not learned from this lesson as it is still happening all around us, all the time and everyday. So sad.

Thanks Danie....my pet peeve is HDR, so I always try very hard to keep the tones natural when using it. Only decided to use it in the end for the clouds.

I like the simplicity, the straight lines and symmetry. Your interpretation in black and white adds the necessary soul to give it meaning. Oh, and well done in not overcooking the HDR... Feature!
