My gorgeous sister allowed me to play around whilst doing her maternity shoot. It was done in studio with cross lighting and the flour was thrown from the left side. Quite a messy shoot and had to time it perfectly seeing that the strobes don't have the best recycle times. Canon 7D, 50mm 1.8, ISO100, F11, 1/160, Elinchrom BRX500

Thank you John, cleanup was hectic :) I'll definitely do it again, BUT will rethink doing it in studio...will have to come up with another plan.

I like this a lot. Very different to any maternity shoot I have ever seen. To me it represents the bursting forth of new life. All the colours to me symbolizes the different aspects of life that the little one will still go through and the mother in the center just proves to me that a mom will always be in the center of it all, watching how the little one adapts to life and embraces it. It's a very prophetic shot to me, executed really well!

Great shot, I love the colours and the sense of fun and play. I think it works really well for what it is. The black background makes the colours stand out, but it is quite solid and dense. I am glad I was not there for cleanup.
