This post is based on a post I've shared on our Facebook Group and after Nadia de Lange's photo, titled "Vintage" I decided to share with the Photo Critic community as well.

The question, is, are you using colour theory to enhance the impact of your images. Adobe has this wonderful tool, called Adobe Kuler for Adobe CC Subscribers. The website is a fantastic aid if you want to work more creatively with colour schemes.

Below are 5 examples of how I've used it for retouching a few portraits from the DPC Workshops. The Adobe tool helps me define which colour intensities and values I would be using. In some instances, if I am adding a background in post, it will also help me to determine , which hue woudl work best. If you're interested to use colour more creatively, I recommend that you study colour theory in order to use it intelligently.

Check out Adobe's website at to check out how Adobe Kuler works... https://color.adobe.com/create/color-wheel/?

This is great Danie!! Thanks so much!

Thanks Danie. Now all you have to do is set up a workshop on colour theory and just colour theory.

Love this article Danie!  Well done.  I want to try and shoot a few portraits and try my hand at Colour Theory!
